MORE ABOUT DERMAL FILLERS

What is a Dermal Filler?

Dermal fillers are cosmetic substances injected beneath the skin's surface to restore volume, diminish wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. They're widely utilized in aesthetic procedures to rejuvenate facial appearance by smoothing wrinkles, replenishing lost volume, and refining facial symmetry. Dermal fillers are crafted from materials like hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, poly-L-lactic acid, or polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), each with distinct properties and durations of efficacy. The choice of filler depends on desired outcomes, treatment area, and patient preferences. Administered by trained professionals, dermal fillers are generally safe but carry potential risks and side effects, necessitating consultation with a qualified healthcare provider before treatment.

What does dermal filler do to your face?

Dermal fillers offer a range of benefits for facial rejuvenation:
Volume Restoration: Fillers restore lost volume in regions such as the cheeks, temples, and under-eye area, combating the effects of aging for a fuller, more youthful look.
Facial Contouring: They sculpt and define facial contours, including the jawline, chin, and cheeks, enhancing overall harmony and balance.
Lip Augmentation: Fillers add volume and shape to the lips, creating fuller, more defined lips with natural-looking results.
In summary, dermal fillers provide comprehensive facial rejuvenation, addressing multiple signs of aging and enhancing facial features for a refreshed appearance.

Who is a good candidate for dermal fillers?

An ideal candidates for dermal fillers typically:
Displays Visible Signs of Aging: Such as wrinkles, fine lines, or volume loss on the face, indicating areas for enhancement.
Seeks Facial Enhancement: Whether it's augmenting lips, cheeks, chin, or jawline for aesthetic reasons.
Maintains Good Health: Candidates should generally be in good health without significant medical conditions that may pose risks during the procedure.
Holds Realistic Expectations: Understanding the potential outcomes and limitations of dermal filler treatments is crucial for satisfaction.
Isn't Pregnant or Breastfeeding: It's advisable to postpone treatments until after this period.
Has No Allergies or Sensitivities: Candidates should be free from allergies to filler ingredients or previous adverse reactions to cosmetic procedures.
Commits to Pre- and Post-Treatment Care: Following provided pre- and post-treatment instructions is essential for optimal results and minimizing complications.
Determining candidacy is best achieved through consultation with a qualified healthcare provider, who can tailor the treatment plan to individual concerns, medical history, and aesthetic goals.

What are some different types of fillers?

Dermal fillers come in various types, each designed for specific purposes:
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Fillers: These are very popular and versatile, known for their ability to add volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. Brands like Juvederm and Restylane are widely recognized in this category.
Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) Fillers: CaHA fillers, such as Radiesse, are thicker and often used for correcting moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, like nasolabial folds.
When considering dermal fillers, individuals should consult with a qualified healthcare provider to determine the most suitable type based on their specific needs, desired outcomes, and medical considerations

What is Hyperdilute Radiesse?

Hyperdilute Radiesse is the technique of hyperdiluting Radiesse. When diluted and injected superficially, Radiesse acts as a collagen stimulating agent. The Hyperdilute Radiesse technique combines the filler with saline and lidocaine, thinning the consistency and increasing the volume of product. The Hyperdilute Radiesse is then injected into the desired area through a thin cannula.
Hyperdilute Radiesse has unique biostimulatory, collagen producing power that can be used to:
● Rejuvenate the skin● Improve texture● Correct volume loss and wrinkles
When will I see results and how long will they last? You may see an immediate result after treatment. The collagen stimulating effects of the treatment will take over at 3-4 weeks post treatment and will continue for up to 6 months. We recommend 2-3 treatments for best results. The gains you make with treatment will last, however, the aging process will continue- you will just age from a better place. For these reasons we recommend an effective at-home anti-aging skin care regimen and annual visits for maintenance treatment.
How many Hyperdilute Radiesse treatments will I need?We recommend 2 – 3 treatments performed 1-2 month apart for optimal results. The number you will need will depend on your overall skin health, amount of skin laxity and volume loss. To maintain results we recommend a follow up treatment approximately once per year.

What are RHA Fillers?

RHA fillers are a type of dermal filler with a unique form of hyaluronic acid (HA). Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid fillers, RHA fillers are designed to be more resilient and adaptable to your facial movements. This means they provide a natural-looking result that doesn't appear stiff or overdone.
RHA fillers are great for treating dynamic wrinkles, such as smile, laugh, or frown lines. They can also add volume to the cheeks, lips, and other areas of the face.
What are the 4 RHA Fillers? The RHA collection consists of four different fillers, each designed to address specific concerns:
● RHA Redensity: Targets delicate areas like the lips & perioral lines and can treat dynamic perioral rhytids.
● RHA 2: Corrects mild to moderate wrinkles and volume deficits.
● RHA 3: Addresses deeper wrinkles and folds, while also enhancing lip volume.
● RHA 4: Treats severe wrinkles and folds, providing significant volume and lift.
How long do RHA Filler results last? The results from the RHA Collection of fillers can typically last up to 15 months in wrinkles and folds and 1 year in lipstick lines. Results are seen immediately after injections.

What treatments do you offer that compliment dermal fillers?

Several treatments complement dermal fillers to enhance overall facial rejuvenation and address specific concerns effectively:
Botox, Xeomin or Daxxify: These botulinum toxin injections are often combined with dermal fillers to relax muscles causing dynamic wrinkles (like frown lines and crow's feet), providing comprehensive wrinkle reduction and facial rejuvenation.
Dermaplaning: This non-invasive procedure removes dead skin cells and peach fuzz hair, revealing smoother and brighter skin, complementing dermal fillers for enhanced skin texture and rejuvenation.
Micro-needling with Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) Therapy: PRF stimulates collagen production and tissue regeneration, amplifying dermal filler results for improved skin texture and tone. The PRF is applied topically and then microneedling is used to penetrate the PRF into the layers of the skin where it releases growth factors, boosts collagen production, and repairs old and damaged tissue.
Skin Tightening Treatments: Morpheus8 Radiofrequency (RF) micro-needling enhances skin firmness and elasticity, complementing dermal fillers for a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.
Consulting with a qualified healthcare provider or aesthetician ensures a personalized treatment plan tailored to individual needs and goals when considering complementary treatments alongside dermal fillers.
