1Wellness Program
1Wellness is a structured medical wellness membership for patients in Chapel Hill seeking data-driven, long-term health optimization.
The program is designed to help you optimize your health with structure, clarity, and long-term guidance. By combining Functional Medicine with precision diagnostics, we create personalized care plans grounded in advanced lab testing, clinical evaluation, and ongoing optimization.
Whether you are navigating persistent symptoms or proactively investing in longevity, 1Wellness provides a medically guided path forward.
If you’ve ever been told “everything looks normal” — but you don’t feel like yourself — or if you already feel well and want to stay that way long-term, this program is designed for you.
Who This Program Is Designed For
Most patients enter 1Wellness in one of two ways:
You’re looking for answers
You’re dealing with ongoing fatigue, weight changes, hormone imbalances, brain fog, or symptoms that haven’t been fully resolved through traditional care.
You’re looking to optimize
You feel relatively well, but want to improve performance, reduce long-term risk, and take a proactive approach to your health and longevity.
Wherever you fall, the goal is the same: clarity, direction, and measurable progress.
What Makes 1Wellness Different
Most traditional healthcare models address symptoms in isolation.
1Wellness evaluates the full system.
We assess cardiovascular risk, metabolic health, hormone balance, inflammation, nutrient status, and long-term disease risk through advanced laboratory analysis and comprehensive clinical review.
This allows us to design a strategy based on measurable data rather than assumptions — and to adjust that strategy as your biology evolves.
Health is complex.
Your care should be comprehensive.
We look at the whole picture to uncover underlying imbalances, reduce disease risk, and support long-term vitality.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our 1Wellness Program
-
Your Functional Wellness Provider follow-ups are the primary clinical visits where your provider reviews labs, testing, progress, and your overall care plan. Restore members have these visits monthly, while Extend + Optimize members have them quarterly.
-
Monthly wellness visits are with a 1Wellness nurse and focus on the day-to-day factors that support your care plan, including nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, medications, supplements, and more.
-
When labs are needed, they are typically scheduled one to two weeks before your Functional Wellness Provider follow-up so your provider can review the results as part of the bigger picture. Unless a result is urgent or needed for medication titration or pellet evaluation, results will be reviewed at your regularly scheduled follow-up. Receiving results early does not necessarily mean your appointment needs to be moved up. If something requires more immediate attention, your 1Wellness team will reach out.
-
No. 1Wellness is designed to work alongside your primary care provider, not replace them. Think of your 1Wellness team as specialty care. Changes to protocols, supplements, medications, or therapies developed through 1Wellness should be managed by your 1Wellness providers, who have the full context behind your plan. If your primary care provider or another specialist has questions, our team is happy to collaborate or help explain the reasoning behind your care.
-
Most 1Wellness visits cannot be booked online. Functional Wellness Provider follow-ups and monthly wellness visits should be scheduled with our team at checkout or by calling the office. B12 and Vitamin D injections are the exception and may be booked online. We recommend scheduling your next follow-up before you leave your appointment, as provider schedules can fill quickly.
-
Yes. Virtual follow-ups are available and can help keep your care plan on track while you are away.
-
Questions do not have to wait until your next provider appointment. You can request a visit with a 1Wellness nurse at any time for questions, clarification, or additional support.
-
Monthly B12 and Vitamin D support may be part of your plan when clinically indicated. These are quick injection visits. If you have questions or concerns you would like to discuss during the visit, please let our team know in advance so we can allow enough time.
-
Laboratory reference ranges are primarily designed to help identify or rule out diagnosable disease. Your primary care provider may appropriately consider a result normal because it falls within that reference range.
At Medspa 501, we also take a preventive and optimization-focused approach. In addition to your lab values, we consider your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, medications, and long-term health goals. For some nutrients and biomarkers, this may lead to a recommendation for support such as vitamin D or B12 even when a result falls within the laboratory’s normal range.
There is not always one “right” interpretation. The approach depends on your individual health goals and the full context of your care.
