Ashlee Emerson, RN, BSN, is a registered nurse with more than nine years of experience across a wide range of healthcare settings. Her clinical background includes cardiothoracic nursing, emergency medicine, urgent care, and trauma-focused care, giving her a strong foundation in both acute care and patient education.

Ashlee began her education with an Associate of Arts from Sandhills Community College and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UNC Greensboro in 2010. After working in a supervisory role at a group home, she transitioned into nursing and completed her Nursing Diploma at Watts School of Nursing in 2017. She later earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Walden University in 2021.

Throughout her nursing career, Ashlee has cared for patients in fast-paced clinical environments, including the cardiothoracic step-down unit at Duke University Hospital and both emergency department and urgent care settings with UNC. She has also served in a leadership role as a team lead at UNC Urgent Care.

Ashlee is especially passionate about patient education. She believes patients feel more confident in their care when they understand the “why” behind their treatment, and she focuses on making medical information clear, practical, and approachable.

Her training includes Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, geriatric emergency nursing education, emergency medicine and trauma training, SPICE training, and Yellow Belt training. She has also presented on patient disposition at a Quality Expo.

Outside of work, Ashlee enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, traveling, and off-roading. She brings the same curiosity, calmness, and practical approach to patient care that she values in her own life.
