Kristin Timpy, MSN, APRN, AGPCNP-BC, IFMCP, is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with nearly two decades of healthcare experience. Her clinical background includes family medicine, women’s health, cardiology, and functional medicine.

Kristin earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Monmouth University, specializing as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Seton Hall University, graduating with honors. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a specialization in Molecular Cell Physiology and received academic recognition including the Sigma Xi Biological Honors Award.

Kristin spent the first ten years of her clinical career practicing cardiology in New York City and New Jersey. After relocating to North Carolina in 2016, personal experiences navigating her daughter’s health challenges led her to pursue integrative and functional medicine.

As an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner, Kristin takes a personalized, whole-person approach to care. She focuses on identifying and addressing underlying contributors to illness rather than treating symptoms in isolation.

Her areas of clinical focus include thyroid disease, gut health, autoimmune conditions, diabetes management, cardiac risk stratification, and toxin exposure. She works closely with patients to understand their health history, evaluate patterns across multiple body systems, and develop individualized care plans.

Kristin’s own experience living with Celiac Disease and Hashimoto’s Disease, conditions also shared by one of her children, has deeply influenced her approach to wellness and patient care.

Outside of work, Kristin enjoys paddleboarding, weightlifting, Pilates, yoga, and traveling. She and her husband, who has been her partner since high school, are raising three children and three dogs. Much of their family time is spent at youth hockey, volleyball, and soccer tournaments.
