LIP BLUSHING

Pre-Treatment

● Stop using retinol products at least 2 weeks before appointment to avoid peeling at the time of your appointment.
● 2 days prior to your appointment do a lip exfoliation/scrub. This can be done with an exfoliating product, or with a toothbrush. Exfoliate gently to remove all dead skin and then use a lip balm until your appointment to keep your lips soft. OVERLY DRY/PEELING LIPS CANNOT BE TATTOOED.
● If you are prone to cold sores, have your doctor prescribe you an anti-viral medication And start taking the medication as prescribed before your appointment. This treatment can commonly cause flare ups that might affect your final result.
● No lip fillers 2 months prior to your appointment.
● No peels, or aggressive facials/laser treatments for 3-4 weeks prior to your appointment.
● Please note, we CANNOT “overline” your lips with this treatment to make significant changes to the shape. Tattoo ink is not the same as using makeup to overline. It will settle into the skin around your lips and appear VERY obvious. This treatment is only to enhance the COLOR of your already existing lips.
● Feel free to bring in a commonly used lipstick as a reference, however, lip blushing is to enhance your natural beauty for an everyday look. Super bright or unnatural colors cannot be tattooed. Our general goal is to get you to a color that is “your lips, but better!”

Post-Treatment

● For 4 days post treatment: DO NOT wet your lips to the best of your ability (drink through a straw, be careful brushing your teeth, wash your face with a washcloth), do not use old lip balms or creams (stick to the ointment we give you). No touching the treatment area.
● Start using the ointment we give you immediately after the procedure and use until scabs/flakes are completely off, or even longer if you’d like. Don’t let your lips crack or dry.
● DO NOT PICK OFF OR REMOVE ANY PEELING. Let the peeling come off on its own. If you pick, scratch, or peel them you can remove the pigment.● Avoid the sun AT ALL COSTS while they are healing/peeling. A sunburn to this area during the healing process could ruin your results.

What To Expect While Healing

● Day 1-2: YOUR LIPS WILL APPEAR TOO DARK. They might look like a block of pigment, redness is present, and they may be swollen. You might not be satisfied with them at this point, be prepared and expect this.
Day 3-6: You will notice that they are beginning to scab/peel. This peeling might slowly flake off in small bits, or they might fall off in larger pieces. Both are normal. Do not remove them yourself.
● Day 6-18: YOUR LIPS WILL NOW APPEAR TOO LIGHT. You might think the process has been unsuccessful, but this is normal. Scabs are not common anymore. The healing period is almost over. ● Day 19-30: YOUR LIPS ARE BACK! They have darkened up again! They are taking their final color and look much better. Your initial touch-up needs to be done 6-8 weeks after the initial session. This is not only to make any corrections, but also to layer the pigment to help it last longer.

POWDER BROWS
